What Does the Chamber Do?

by vickismith 18. September 2007 11:19

There are, in fact, a lot of misconceptions about the Chamber. For example, there are those who believe the Chamber gathers statistics, prints nice brochures, visits new businesses, answers inquiries, and advertises what a great place the Kuna area is to work, live, and thrive!

They are correct, up to a point. We do all that and more. What is listed above is a fringe benefit of the Chamber. The Chamber is a catalyst — a common vehicle through which businesses & professionals work together for the common good of the community.

A better community means  better business conditions, and we work for everyone. So, the final analysis to the question is: we try whatever is necessary to keep the area’s economic condition at a level where business will risk their resources here in hope of making a profit… all else is frosting on the cake a means to an end.

In any community, it is from the profitable operations of business that all other benefits are derived. Only by succeeding in fundamental goals can we provide the jobs and produce the wealth to finance the civic, educational, cultural, and charitable needs that face the community.

Who is the “we”? We are YOU, the Chamber member. You are the Chamber of Commerce. You provide ideas, drive, goals, funds, and voluntary services to the Chamber to keep doing what it does!

We need the confidence that “it” can be done in our community, state, and nation. We need to be available to be accountable to the coming generations who will be the true judges of what we do today.

Thank you for what you have done today and what you will do tomorrow!

I would like to thank all the August 30th Annual Membership Meeting attendees, thank you for supporting the Kuna Chamber of Commerce.
